The official highlighted the bet that the Government of El Salvador has made on the technology industry to boost the country’s economic growth.

For the Minister of Economy, María Luisa Hayem, El Salvador has made a clear commitment to the technology industry, which has also allowed the modernization of the country’s economy and maintained the dynamism it has experienced under the current administration, chaired by Nayib Bukele.
Hayem pointed out that the commitment to technology in El Salvador has allowed the modernization of many areas, which positions the country as a nation at the forefront of financial technology, confirming the positive evolution that the nation continues to experience.
“We are at the forefront of financial technology, this contributes to all the effort we have been making since the beginning of our administration. Innovation and technology events have been developed throughout the year,” she commented.
The official also explained that “the telecommunications sector is of vital importance for the country, which is a key tool for the development of a territory”. “At the Central American level we seek to be aligned so that as a region we are more attractive for investments”, she added.
For Hayem, the visit of the U.S. Undersecretary of International Trade, Marisa Lago, confirms all this evolution of the country. “It must be emphasized that the United States joins this objective we have set for ourselves to become a technological hub,” he said.
“This visit also marks a positive message of this solid relationship that exists with the United States, which is very important for investors who are thinking of establishing themselves in El Salvador,” she added.
