Grupo Poma and Marriott International signed a franchise agreement for the opening and operation of the new JW Marriott hotel in San Salvador, El Salvador.
The new hotel will be located within the Multiplaza complex.

The hotel will be the twenty-sixth in the Real Hotels & Resorts portfolio, present in 11 countries in the Americas.
PIONEERS IN THE REGION
JW Marriott is part of Marriott International’s portfolio of luxury brands and consists of distinctive properties and resort locations around the world.
Real Hotels & Resorts was one of the first operators to be awarded the JW Marriott brand franchise by Marriott International, starting with the JW Marriott Guanacaste hotel in Costa Rica in 2007 and the JW Marriott Bogota in 2010.
“This hotel will be a benchmark of luxury and hospitality and, together with other developments that we will announce soon, will represent the culmination of the master project of the Multiplaza San Salvador multi-purpose complex, which began approximately 25 years ago,” said Ricardo Poma, president of Grupo Poma.
De Kousemaeker thanked the Real Hotels & Resorts team for more than two decades of working together in regional development.
“We are confident that this new hotel will be a great success and will become a destination of luxury and hospitality,” said Marriott International’s Chief Development Officer for the Caribbean and Latin America.
There are nearly 125 JW (named after J Willard Marriott, the chain’s founder) Marriott hotels in 40 countries and territories around the world catering to sophisticated travelers. In the Caribbean and Latin America, the brand is represented with a portfolio of 17 hotels.
A NEW LUXURY OFFERING IN EL SALVADOR

“Guests will have the benefit of enjoying in the same place more than 230 commercial premises, including stores, cinemas and many gastronomic, entertainment and cultural options within the Multiplaza complex,” he mentioned, as part of the amenities to be offered.
The 16-story building will be designed by the architectural firm CallisonRTKL, with offices in the Netherlands and the United States, and will have a contemporary and luxurious style, built according to the highest standards of sustainability.
The interior design of the new JW Marriott San Salvador hotel will be the responsibility of the U.S. firm Watermark, which specializes in luxury hotel interiors.
It will have 186 rooms, including standard, double and suites, all designed to offer maximum comfort and elegance to guests.
