Exports from El Salvador total $1,789.2 million until March

Only last month, foreign trade totaled $683.7 million. The most sold products were T-Shirts and t-shirts, sugar, sweaters, plastic products and toilet paper.

The Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported that exports of Salvadoran goods totaled $1,789.2 million between January and March of this year, indicating that foreign trade continues to grow.

Only last month, El Salvador’s foreign trade with the world totaled $683.7 million, data higher than those of January when sales totaled $522.5 million and February when $582.9 million.

Among the most sold products so far this year, according to the financial entity, are: knitted t-shirts and t-shirts ($198.2 million), cane sugar ($135.1 million), as well as sweaters and vests ($126.2 million) and plastic products ($75.8 million).

In addition, the country’s main trading partners are the United States and Central America, where the former generated purchases from the country for $648.47 million, followed by Guatemala with $295.47, Honduras with $262.02 million, Nicaragua with $125.60 million and Costa Rica 83.18 million.

Regarding the analysis by commercial items, the most outstanding in the first quarter was the production of food products that totaled $354.51 million, in second place the maquila manufacturing industry $327.85 million and the manufacture of clothing obtained $290.79 million.
