The agreement signed at the headquarters of the Argentine Foreign Ministry in Buenos Aires took place within the framework of the official visit of the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, to Argentina.

The Argentine Foreign Minister, Diana Mondino, and her Salvadoran counterpart, Alexandra Hill Tinoco, signed on Tuesday bilateral and inter-institutional agreements on cultural, sports and nuclear cooperation, as well as on airport collaboration and diplomatic training, according to a statement issued by the Argentine Foreign Ministry.
The agreement signed at the headquarters of the Argentine Foreign Ministry in Buenos Aires took place within the framework of the official visit of the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, to Argentina.
Mondino and Hill Tinoco signed a Letter of Intent between Argentina and El Salvador for the creation of an ‘airport hub’, where both countries express “their will to favor and promote air interconnections”.
As regards energy, they signed a Memorandum on Cooperation in Human Resources Training between the Argentine National Atomic Energy Commission and the Agency for the Implementation of the Nuclear Energy Program of El Salvador.
The official communiqué recalled that “recently” a Salvadoran delegation had visited different Argentine nuclear facilities and held meetings with authorities of the sector, in which “the issue of human resources training was identified as one of the priority areas” for Argentina to collaborate with El Salvador “in its path towards the introduction of nuclear energy in its energy matrix”.
In addition, the foreign ministers signed a Cultural Cooperation Agreement to promote exchange in the areas of cultural heritage, visual and cinematographic arts, music, dance, performing arts, literature, handicrafts and digital culture.
In diplomatic matters, the ministers signed a Memorandum of Understanding between Argentina’s Foreign Service Institute (ISEN) and El Salvador’s Doctor José Gustavo Guerrero Diplomatic Institute.
In the presence of the Argentinean president, Javier Milei, and the Salvadoran president, Nayib Bukele, the ministers had signed on Monday a joint declaration that highlights the issues prioritized by both countries in political, economic and cooperation matters, the agreements signed on this occasion and the future actions to be developed in trade and investments, as well as collaboration initiatives in nuclear energy, citizen security and air transport, among others.
Hill Tinoco and the Argentine Secretary of Tourism, Environment and Sports, Daniel Scioli, also signed on Tuesday a Cooperation Agreement on Sports between the National Sports Institute of El Salvador (Indes) and the Undersecretary of Sports of Argentina, which proposes to develop initiatives for the exchange of coaches, technicians, specialists and experts, participation in joint training and international sporting events.
The Salvadoran Foreign Minister also signed a Bilateral Cooperation Framework Agreement between the Salvadoran Water Authority and the General Department of Irrigation of the Argentine province of Mendoza (west), for the exchange of knowledge, the generation and exchange of information, technology and research that contribute to the conservation, protection, improvement, exploitation and integral use of water resources.
El Salvador’s Minister of Culture, Raúl Neftalí Castillo, and the director of Argentina’s Mariano Moreno National Library, Susana Soto Pérez, also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for cooperation in the cultural, heritage and archives fields.
