More than 100 Colombian businessmen learned about the opportunities offered by the country to invest and do business.

The Government of President Nayib Bukele continues to promote the country as a destination to invest, reside, and visit to boost the growth of different sectors and, above all, increase business opportunities in the tourism sector, which is one of the 10 Economic Impulses.

In this regard, recently, government officials participated in the Business and Investment Opportunities Forum in El Salvador, which was held this week in Bogota, Colombia, where more than 100 businessmen participated and learned about the opportunities that the country offers to Colombian companies.

The event presented a comprehensive vision of the investment opportunities that El Salvador offers and the facilities in the process of establishing business and provided detailed information on specific projects, tax incentives, legal framework, and assistance for investment facilitation.

Those in charge of projecting El Salvador were the ambassador of El Salvador in Colombia, German Banacek; the executive director of the Salvadoran Tourism Corporation (Corsatur), Alejandra Durán; the executive director of Invest in El Salvador, Samadhy Martínez; and the investment director of the Ministry of Economy, Clarissa Valdebran.

The delegation met with representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of Bogota, which brings together important businessmen of the South American country, and who supported the organization of the event.

They also held a meeting with the Hotel and Tourism Association of Colombia (Cotelco), where they presented El Salvador as an attractive destination for business with a high potential in the tourism sector.

In response, the Colombian businessmen expressed their interest in learning more about El Salvador’s different investment projects, especially those related to infrastructure and energy.

“We stand out as an attractive destination for investment, and we are here to show them our value proposition and incentives that position us at the forefront in the region,” said the official.

While the Salvadoran ambassador said that “as a mandate of President Bukele we continue to work to strengthen ties with key partners both in the tourism sector, as well as other sectors.”

On the other hand, representatives of Aviatur, Hotel Estelar, Avia Soluciones Hoteleras, Hotel Movich, Hotel Faranda, Hotel Las Américas, and Avianca, as a strategic ally, were present at the meeting to support the tourism sector.
