Sales of these products rose 7.6% between January and November 2024, according to BCR data.

Data from the Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reflect an increase up to November 2024 in exports of technological goods, which totaled $25.2 million, reflecting an increase of 7.6 % with respect to the same period of 2023, which was $23.3 million.
According to the state bank, sales of components designed for information processing totaled $14 million and reflected an increase of 0.19% over 2023.
Meanwhile, communication equipment reached sales of $3.7 million, with an increase of 60%, when compared to the January to November 2023 record, when it totaled $2.3 million.
In turn, consumer technological equipment totaled exports for $2.5 million, which means a growth of 90.3% when compared to the same period of 2023, which was $1.3 million.
Likewise, electronic components are the ones that registered the highest growth with 148.6 %, which is equivalent to $460,000 sold up to November 2024, while in the same period of the previous year, sales amounted to $190,000.
On the other hand, exports of computers and peripheral equipment reflected a drop of 20.8%, with total sales of $4.3 million, according to the BCR report.
In general terms, El Salvador’s exports totaled $5,997.9 million between January and November of last year, being the sectors with the highest sales flow the manufacture of clothing with $1,082.2 million; the elaboration of food products with $1,062.3 million; the manufacturing industry with $820 million; and plastic products with $479.9 million.
