The magazine Derecho y Negocios awarded the good practices of 20 companies operating in the country. The Minister of Economy, Maria Luisa Hayem, was a special guest at this event.

The Minister of Economy, Maria Luisa Hayem, participated on Thursday in the first edition of the event Impact Companies 2024, organized by the magazine Derecho y Negocios, where awards were given to 20 companies that stand out for their comprehensive leadership in the areas of sustainability, reputation and work environment.
During her speech, the official expressed her congratulations for being part of the recognition of different leading companies in their field and highlighted the important economic transformation that the country is undergoing.
“El Salvador is going through a moment of transformation and opportunities, which can be seen in our macroeconomic figures, such as the sustained growth of our Gross Domestic Product in recent years,” said the official.
She added that the Ministry of Economy (Minec) has implemented a series of measures and policies aimed at improving the business environment, eliminating bureaucratic barriers, and promoting both domestic and foreign investment.
The companies that received awards tonight for Law and Business were AES El Salvador, AFP Confía, Almacenes SIMAN, Banco Agrícola, BAC Credomatic, Banco Cuscatlán, CMI, Distribuidora de Electricidad Delsur, Diana, Fruit of the Loom, Grupo CASSA, Holcim El Salvador, La Constancia, Laboratorios PAILL, Sigma Q, TELUS International El Salvador, Ternova, Unilever and Walmart.
According to those responsible for the awards, these companies were distinguished because, in addition to generating impact through job creation and boosting the country’s economy, they are referents comprehensively by having good sustainability practices and supporting the communities with which they work.
In this regard, Hayem said that the Government of El Salvador recognizes the importance of political, legal, and economic stability to attract investment and promote a climate of confidence and certainty for entrepreneurs and investors, and reiterated the willingness of the Executive to continue moving forward in building a more prosperous and competitive country for all.
“The good news is that every day we are seeing more investors, both local and foreign, interested in being able to expand or settle in our country. We see this transformation in the well-being of the population and the growth of our companies,” concluded the minister.
