The third edition of the Food and Beverage Industry Congress provided an exchange of perspectives to strengthen the growth of this sector.

The Investment and Export Promotion Agency of El Salvador (Invest in El Salvador), participated in the third edition of the Food and Beverage Industrial Congress, organized by the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists (ASI), the event that addressed the new sustainable challenges in the food and beverage industry; advances in innovation and logistics; and sustainability and food, among other topics of importance for companies.
During his intervention with the presentation “Export Opportunities Through Trade Agreements”, the specialist Leonardo Ortiz, from the Export Department of Invest in El Salvador, explained: “El Salvador has the potential to offer a wide range of products that meet the quality standards demanded by international markets, in 2023, the country exported more than 100 products to 32 destinations and obtained an export value of $599 million,” said Ortiz.

For the president of the ASI, Jorge Arriaza, projections for 2024 are optimistic and sales abroad are expected to exceed $800 million, surpassing 2023, marking an increase of 5.8%.
Arriaza also noted that the food and beverage industry generates more than 32 thousand jobs in El Salvador.
Other important conferences were held to reflect on the renewal of sanitary registration, updating of nutritional labeling, food safety as a basis for economic growth, the international system of units, among other topics of interest to the sector.
