The Travel segment of the prestigious National Geographic magazine, highlighted in a recent article that El Salvador and Nepal stand out as safe tourist destinations to travel to in 2024.
“It’s official: El Salvador and Nepal leave the list of destinations to avoid for travelers and are classified as tourist enclaves with a seal of security, according to a recent report published by the International SOS organization”, writes this segment.
In the case of El Salvador, they mention that several factors position the country as a popular tourist destination. “In the words of its leader, Nayib Bukele, the new ‘safest Latin American country’ is one of those that has most reduced the rate of homicidal violence and has only a 3% perceived increase in crime. These reasons, added to the pacification process promoted by the government, have alleviated the feeling of insecurity in the streets”, it reads.
Similarly, sites such as the Santa Ana volcano, the beaches of El Tunco, the ruins of Tazumal, Lake Coatepeque, and the city of San Salvador are attractive destinations for international tourists.
